Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Annaachi mobile application, website and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By installing Annaachi or creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Annaachi is a voice-first ordering platform that connects customers with independent neighbourhood grocery shops (“Annaachis”). We do not sell goods. We do not process payments. We do not deliver orders. We provide the software that lets customers and Annaachis communicate orders, prices, and pickup readiness.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You verify your phone number with an OTP. You are responsible for keeping access to that phone number.
- You agree to provide accurate information (your name; if you're an Annaachi, your shop name, address and UPI ID).
- Don't impersonate someone else or set up a shop you don't operate.
3. Voice ordering is best-effort
Voice transcription is performed by your phone's built-in speech recogniser. Annaachi parses the resulting text into items, quantities and units. The parsing is good but imperfect. Always review the items on the order screen before submitting.
4. Pricing autonomy
Each Annaachi sets their own prices for each order. Annaachi (the platform) does not set, negotiate, or guarantee any price. Prices may change between orders, between shops, and according to availability.
5. Payments are between you and the shop
Customers pay Annaachis directly via UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, or any UPI app of their choice) or in cash on pickup. Annaachi (the platform) never holds, processes or settles any money. UPI transactions are governed by your bank, the Annaachi's bank, and NPCI rules.
6. Order completion
Orders are fulfilled by the Annaachi at their physical shop. Pickup times, item availability, and any disputes about quality are between you and the Annaachi. We are happy to help mediate but we are not a party to the transaction.
7. Trust signal
If a customer cancels an order, the Annaachi will see a “cancelled before” signal on subsequent orders from that customer, and may require upfront payment for the new order. This is a feature, not a penalty — it lets Annaachis serve customers who would otherwise be uneconomic to prepare for.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Annaachi to order anything illegal or restricted by local law.
- Abuse, threaten or harass any other user or shop owner.
- Submit orders you do not intend to pick up or pay for.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service.
9. Content and IP
The Annaachi name, logo, app, and website are the property of PORUZ. Shop names, product names, and prices entered by Annaachis remain their own property; by entering them in the app, the Annaachi grants us a licence to display them to customers solely for the purpose of running the Service.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an “as is” basis. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. We do not guarantee that any specific Annaachi will be open, have stock, or accept your order.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, PORUZ and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or revenues, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed ₹1,000.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will be flagged in-app on next launch.
